Purpose
To help disadvantaged students meet high academic standards; to help children who are failing or most at risk of failing to meet the district’s core academic curriculum standards.
Title I Services
Title 1 services are provided at all four of our elementary schools, and at Oak Park Preparatory Academy. Services include the following:
- Title 1 Teachers- Certified teachers provide instructional support in classrooms (large and small groups) to at risk students
- Parent Facilitators- Act as a home-school liason to help parents assist their children to achieve academically
- Title I Tutors- Part time certified teachers provide in-class support for at risk students
- Extended Day/Year- Certified teachers provide tutoring at after/before-school and summer programs for at risk students to meet core academic standards
- In-services/Workshops- To provide staff with instructional strategies to assist at risk students
- Parent Meetings- To provide support to parents with respect to school curriculum and steps parents can take to help their child achieve
- Supplemental Instructional Materials- Materials in addition to textbooks which support the learning process for students at risk of failing
