Dear Parents and Students: 

Welcome to the 2009-2010 School Year!!! 

As the principal of Francis Key Scott Elementary School, it is my goal to provide challenges that are rich with new educational experiences.  I look forward to a great school year and working with you and your child. 

Mission

Francis Scott Key Elementary School shall support and engage authentic academic and social achievement so that all student become successful and productive citizens in our global society. 

Vision

We envision Francis Key Scott Elementary as a school where learning is facilitated by a dedicated staff in a safe, collaborative and accommodating climate; inclusive of community stakeholders including professional and ancillary staff, parents and business community.  We pledge to provide and/or maintain:

  • a safe and welcoming environment where all students and parents develop meaningful and collaborative connections within the learning community. academic and social programs that reflect and support district and statewide benchmarks and objectives;
  • learning opportunties that support academic and social expectations for at-risk-students;
  • successful and competitive performance on state and district wide standardized tests;
  • continued use of best practices, analysis of student achievement date and further implementation of instructional differentiation;
  • substantive and research-based professional development relative to student needs;
  • a network of social and academic contacts and resources that promote understanding of and commitment to the school's mission;
  • a means by which the ideas and efforts of the business community provide an active extension of the school community goals;
  • continued implementation of our Positive Behavior Support program and RTI initiative.
