Principal's Page - Mrs. Lisa A. Phillips

As the Principal, I welcome you to the home of The Oak Park Knights. We are nationally certified by The Central Accreditation (NCA). We have a rich tradition of achieving excellence with a student population of 1300 students ranging from grades 10 through 12th. Our graduation rate is 85% with an increase in seniors enrolled in college.  As we continue to elevate our academic growth, we are proud to announce that our MME/ACT scores increased. Are we where we want to be-NO, but we will continue to put forth the effort to improve, improve and improve!

We have a strong tradition of excellence, experienced a great deal of success through the years and are recognized for our innovative programs and athletic achievements. Oak Park High School sets high expectations for our students and we continue to provide a supportive atmosphere that produces student achievement.
We have fostered several lucrative partnerships with The University of Michigan, Oakland University, Oakland Community College, The Detroit Economic Club, The Oakland County-Tri-Community coalition, Positive Behavior Support, The F.B.I. and OPBEA, just to name a few. Our teachers are highly qualified and we set the bar high and focus our energy on literacy and various skills which are pathways to success in all academic achievements and in their career choice.
We follow the belief that all children can learn if we teach them to reach their true potential. We know that education improves the quality of life and learning is a lifelong process, collaboration and communication are critical to making progress and accountability is a critical component of achievement.
I am more than confident that our partnership with parents, students and community will help us to attain even greater heights in the years to come.
The Oak Park High School family invites you to visit our school and experience various educational opportunities available for our students. We are extremely proud of our accomplishments and look forward to continuing improvement in academic achievement as we prepare our students for their position in our society.
