Principal's Letter

Dear Oak Park High School Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope your summer provided opportunities for rest, connection, and quality time with your family. As we welcome our Knights back to the Home of the Knights, I am excited about the year ahead and the opportunities we have to learn, grow, and achieve together.

At Oak Park High School, our WHY is clear:

“To intentionally and holistically empower students into empathetic leaders of diverse communities.”

EXCEL. GROW. CONQUER.

This year, we will continue building a school culture where every student is known, challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. Our work will continue to ensure:

Our Knights Are On Task. Positive. Helpful. Safe.

  • On Task — Rigorous, relevant learning experiences that challenge your teenager and prepare them for college, careers, and life beyond high school.
  • Positive — High expectations, recognition of achievements, and unwavering belief in their ability to succeed and shape their future.
  • Helpful — Complete support as they navigate academic demands, college planning, career exploration, and social challenges through mentoring, counseling, and guidance.
  • Safe — Physical and emotional safety where they can express themselves, take academic risks, learn from mistakes, and develop into confident young adults.

We ask families to partner with us by supporting regular attendance, punctuality, academic engagement, positive behavior, and communication with the school. Every day matters, and every minute of learning counts.

OUR PARTNERSHIP MATTERS

Please stay connected with your student's teachers and school staff, attend school events, monitor attendance and academic progress, and encourage your student to take ownership of learning and growth. Thank you for trusting Oak Park High School to partner with you in preparing your young adult for college, career, leadership, and life beyond high school.

Let's Start Strong. Pursue Greatness. Achieve Excellence.

With Knight Pride,

Dr. Renita Williams, OPHS Principal
