Lessenger Students Celebrate National Reading Month with Stories from Familiar Faces

To celebrate "National Reading Month" in March, Lessenger Early Childhood Center welcomed local familiar faces to read to students. Some of those people included City of Oak Park Mayor Marian McClellan, Oak Park Police Chief Steve Cooper, and Oak Park Schools Superintendent Angel Abdulahad. The children all welcomed the guests with open arms and sat eager to hear some of their favorite stories from individuals who they may look up to as role models now.

“It’s great to be able to take time to visit Lessenger Early Childhood and meet some of our future leaders,” says Superintendent Abdulahad “A lot of the time we all get so caught up in our busy lives that we don’t take the time to step back and really connect with those we serve. This allowed us to do that.”
