Oak Park Schools Celebrate National Recognition for Einstein Elementary and Lessenger Early Childhood Center
Two Schools Named 2024–2025 Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools

Oak Park, MI — Oak Park Schools is proud to announce that Einstein Elementary and Lessenger Early Childhood Center have been honored as 2024–2025 Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools. This prestigious designation recognizes schools that exemplify a deep commitment to building positive, relationship-centered learning environments through the Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH) process.

Out of more than 2,000 nominated schools across the nation, only 800 received this distinction—placing Einstein and Lessenger among the top schools in the country recognized for excellence in social-emotional learning and student-centered culture.

“This recognition affirms the hard work our staff has done to create a safe and supportive culture where students can truly flourish,” said Superintendent Angel Abdulahad. “The daily efforts of our staff to build strong relationships and foster a positive environment truly exemplify what it means to be a caring and collaborative school community. I’m extremely proud of everyone who made this honor possible. Principals Brandi North and Sarah Provenzola-West have led with heart and dedication to ensure our schools embody the CKH mission.”

At both Einstein and Lessenger, the Capturing Kids’ Hearts framework is fully embedded into the daily experience—from classroom instruction to staff collaboration—shaping the way educators interact, communicate, and make decisions. The result is a school climate where students and staff alike feel seen, heard, and valued.

“This national recognition highlights the transformative work being done in Oak Park to cultivate connected, compassionate, and empowered learners,” Abdulahad added. “We remain committed to advancing this mission across our district.”

Oak Park Schools celebrates this achievement not only as a reflection of excellence at Einstein and Lessenger, but as a milestone in its broader mission to foster strong, supportive educational communities district-wide.
