Oak Park Schools is overjoyed to welcome Dr. Myles Dennis as our new Assistant Principal at OPPA

Dr. Myles looks forward to working collaboratively with the faculty and families at Oak Park Preparatory Academy to prepare students to think mathematically, observe scientifically, read regularly, and act civically.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Morehouse College, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Wayne State University (WSU), an Education Specialist Certificate from WSU, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction from WSU.
Throughout his thirty-year career as an educator, he has served in a variety of roles, including classroom mathematics and physics teacher, instructional specialist, mathematics curriculum leader, dean of culture, assistant principal, and principal.
Guided by the motto “use challenges as stepping stones toward success rather than reasons to justify mediocrity,” he brings a growth-oriented mindset to his leadership.
As Assistant Principal at Oak Park Preparatory Academy, his focus is on expanding teachers’ pedagogical repertoire with best practices that directly contribute to increased student achievement.
