The Oak Park Board of Education is pleased to invite all staff, parents, and community members to an Open House to meet the final candidate for the position of Superintendent of Oak Park School District.
Dr. Marcus Davenport, former Superintendent of Beecher Community Schools and Grand Ledge Public Schools, will be available to meet with attendees and share his vision for the future of the district.

Date: Monday, July 27, 2026
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Location: Oak Park High School
This Open House offers an opportunity for staff, families, and community members to meet Dr. Davenport, learn about his leadership experience, and engage in informal conversation.
Your participation is valued, and we encourage you to attend as the Board continues the superintendent selection process.

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year!
It is my absolute pleasure to be the new superintendent of Oak Park School District. In my first days in the position, I was overwhelmed by the endless potential and talent that exists in our school system. As we begin this new school year, I am filled with excitement and optimism for all that lies ahead. As a district, we continue to focus on clear communication, strong partnerships, and thoughtful decision-making that places students first. We have also made strategic staffing and organizational enhancements that will allow us to maximize our talent, strengthen our systems, and make the most strategic use of resources to improve student achievement.
2026-2027 is a year of higher expectations, more meaningful opportunities, and continued progress. Together, we will foster academic excellence, encourage personal growth, and celebrate the accomplishments of every student. I will need your partnership in this process and welcome the opportunity to dialogue with you throughout the year regarding questions, concerns, and suggestions. Our partnership and willingness to work together will be the fundamental foundation for our continued improvements.
I am honored to serve as your superintendent and look forward to working alongside our students, families, staff, and community as we continue building a district where every child can succeed. This month alone, we have two exciting milestones to look forward to: our inspiring MLK Celebration, which honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the values of equity and service that define our community, and the grand opening of our new athletic center, a state-of-the-art facility that will serve our student-athletes and community for generations to come.
